For those awaiting the lottery results, here is a quick reminder of the strict ownership rules outlined by WBHIDCO:

  • Leasehold Nature: All flats are handed over on a 99-year leasehold basis.
  • Annual Rent: Lessees must pay an annual rent at the rate of 0.25% of the lease premium to WBHIDCO by April 30th every year.
  • 10-Year Lock-in: Beneficiaries are strictly prohibited from selling, renting, or leasing the unit for a period of 10 years from the date of signing the lease agreement.
  • Women’s Empowerment: The property shall be primarily owned or co-owned by a female member of the family. It may be owned by a male member only in the absence of a female member in the family.
